Northeast Iceland Development Fund
Northeast Iceland Development Fund is a competitive fund with the purpose of funding projects which support the objectives of Northeast Iceland Development Plan in three categories; business development and innovation, cultural projects, and start-up and operating grants in the field of culture. The fund´s operation is managed by the Association of municipalities in Northeast Iceland (SSNE). Calls for applications are advertised once per year.

What kind of projects are eligible for grants?
The fund's grants fall into three categories:
- Project grants in the field of business development and innovation
- Project grants in the field of culture
- Start-up and operating grants in the field of culture
Applicants are encouraged to study the following information well to maximize the quality and chances of their applications.
- The grant allocation rules.
- Goals and vision of Northeast Iceland Plan of Action and how your project relates to them.
- Evaluation guidelines for business development and innovation projects.
- Evaluation form for cultural, community and public health projects.
- Previously funded projects (in Icelandic)
- Applicants must be legal persons, non-profit organisations, companies, or institutions in Northeast Iceland.
- The Development Fund generally grants no more than 50% of the total eligible cost of projects.
Where do I apply?
- Applications must be submitted electronically through the fund's application portal.
- It is necessary access the portal using the electronic ID.
What is the procedure if my project receives a grant?
- An online allocation event will be held.
- An online workshop for grantees will be held.
- When promoting the project, the support of the Northeast Iceland Development Plan should be mentioned as appropriate. As a rule, advertisements of events or projects funded by the Development Fund should reach the whole operating area of SSNE. Here you will find the logo of Northeast Iceland Development Fund.
- Grantees must submit a final report upon completion of project.
Note that SSNE advisors must be notified promptly of any foreseen changes in the project plan and implementation.
